FAQs
When is a good time to start the college essay?
Every student’s schedule is different but one thing is certain: the application deadline is the same. 650Words encourages students to start the essay as early as possible—between spring of junior year and summer before senior year or whenever there is a lull in their schedule. Writing between term papers, school performances and team practices can make it difficult to focus. Since the college essay is an evergreen story, it will ease the stress in the fall if it’s completed early.
How does the process work at 650Words?
At 650Words, the essay process is 100% student driven. Writers set personal deadlines and 650Words works with each writer to meet the deadlines that work for their schedule. After two sessions, the student will have multiple leads, essay structure and all the important tools to get started. Additional editing and coaching is available as well to complete the final draft.
Does 650Words assist with supplemental essays?
Yes! Of course. Supplemental essays have become increasingly more important as enrollment offices keep a close watch on yield and conversion rates. Supplemental questions are customized so that the admissions department can learn what the applicant knows about the institution and how well the applicant will fit into the university’s culture.
Do we need to meet in person?
No! Of course not. 650Words works with students across the United States. The first two sessions of the {Think+Talk+Tell} writing process are live, offered in-person or through Zoom sessions. Every meeting is interactive and full of dialog. Pen and paper optional.
What is the cost for essay coaching?
650Words works directly with each student and family to customize the process based on the writer’s needs and timeline.
